A Good Father

A Good Father

Matthew 5:45 “that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sunrise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”

that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; Unless Jesus transforms our lives and lives His life through us, His teaching is the biggest mockery human ears ever listened to.  You will experience such despair if you attempt it in your own power.  This, by the way, was God’s plan from the beginning.  He wants us to come to the place of despairing self-effort so He can be more than a “helper” and be life for us.  Remember He just spoke an unbelievable command to the listeners to love and not hate their enemies.  Not only were His disciples called to love their enemies they were further called to bless even those who cursed them.  Additionally, as if that weren’t enough, they were to pray for them who spitefully use them.  When we realize we cannot, in our own strength, love our enemies nor bless those who curse us, we see we cannot come anywhere near to the standard revealed in the Sermon on the Mount.  Only then are we in a condition to receive from God the disposition that enables us to love our enemies and pray for those who spitefully use us, and to do good to those who hate us.  The secret of the Christian’s life is that the supernatural is made natural when we allow Him to live through us.  He lives within us in order to live His life through us!

Sonship is our birth-right.  Jesus didn’t come to frustrate us with humanly impossible demands but to transform our lives.  He gave His life so we could receive adoption as the sons of God.  Galatians 3:26 “for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith.”  It is through faith in Jesus we are born-again and receive His life in us.

for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.  God exhibits His love to good people and also to bad people.  Our example of how we relate to others is God Himself.  The bottom line is God does bless people who hate Him and sends rain on those who defy Him.  Never forget that God loves the world and gave Himself for the salvation of all mankind.  It is only for us to receive the gift of His life.  Having believed in Him, we yield to Him and allow Him to live His life through us.  Then we’ll find ourselves loving those who hate us, blessing those who curse us, and praying for those who spitefully use us.  Then we’ll see our lives transformed, and the worlds’.

I hope you have an incredibly blessed week.

We are so excited to be having our two buildings delivered this week.  We are so very grateful for your generosity in helping us obtain them.  We are only $9,000 short of what we need to complete the project.  Thank you for all you who have labored getting this ready and who have signed up to help complete this project.

You are loved!
