A Sweet Aroma

GraceA Sweet Aroma

In reading through Leviticus it caught my attention that in describing the various offerings people were instructed to bring to God it was referred to as “a pleasing aroma” before God.  My prayer for Faith Bible Church is that our offering time would be one of the happiest times in the service because we see it as our privilege to worship our God from His abundant provision.

We are, thankfully, free from all the sacrifices and offerings required by the Law.  There were sin offerings, peace offerings, wave offerings, tithes, temple taxes and much more.  It is important to know from what we are free,  but it is vital to our growth to know that we have now been liberated to give joyfully and freely to the Lord.   Our sacrifices and offerings to advance God’s kingdom are also a sweet fragrance to God!  Our giving can, and should, be joyful because it flows from our relationship with Him whom we freely confess is the rightful owner of all we possess and who we are.  Take time to remind yourself you are His and ask Him what He wants you to give to His kingdom’s work and then give joyfully because it is a sweet fragrance before God!

Philippians 4:18 “Indeed I have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God.

I believe we, as a community of grace, will experience abundance when we see our offerings on Sunday as a part of our responsive worship and something that pleases Father.

I hope you’re having a great week living from His life and seeing Him manifest  the unique expression of Jesus through you.  I’m really looking forward to Sunday and bringing the message Father has put on my heart.  Be on the lookout for those divine appointments Father is giving you to share love and life with others.  He will even give you people to bring to church!  If you notice someone hasn’t been in a while give them a call and tell them you’ve missed them and invite them back.
